Don Sexton

Donald Leroy Sexton, 68, of Goodwell, Oklahoma, passed away on March 11, 2026, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Born on September 5, 1957, in Midland, Texas, to Wiley Joe and Velma Latice (Dye) Sexton, Donald was raised in Guthrie, Oklahoma. He graduated from Guthrie High School with the Class of 1975 and later attended Oklahoma State University in Stillwater. On June 15, 2019, he married Sammi Kay Kelley in Guymon.

Donald worked for many years as a parts specialist with NAPA before retiring in 2021. For four decades he took pride in his work with automobiles, motorcycles, and auto and commercial glass. He was actively involved with Pink Heals and Iron Thunder, and he cherished the years he spent coaching his children in Little League and sharing playful pranks with them.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Velma Sexton, Bill and Velma Hurst, and his brother, Ricky Sexton. Donald is survived by his wife, Sammi, of the home; his children, Cerrie Sexton and Jordan Gonzales of Guymon, Candice Sexton and Matthew Young of Oklahoma City, D.J. Sexton and Rebecca Girouard of Optima, Dillon Sexton and Alyssa of Guymon, Drake Sexton of Oklahoma City, Chris McLemore of Guymon, and Samantha Pfrehm and Tyler of Amarillo; nine grandchildren, Angel, Breanna, Daniel, Blayton, LillyAnn, David, Madeline, Dylan, and Liam; one great-granddaughter, Ava; and two sisters, Kathy Clark and Sandy Sherrill.
