Dolores J. Addison

Dolores J. Addison August 21, 1932 - March 14, 2026 Belleville, Illinois - Dolores J. Addison passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Dammert Care Center in Belleville, IL. She was baptized in her youth and knew Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior all of her life. She was born in E. St. Louis, IL, on August 21, 1932, the daughter of the late Henry and Mary (Miller) Miller. She was married to Wayne A. Addison on December 27, 1951. He preceded her in death on July 14, 2013. Dolores graduated from Dupo High School, class of 1950. During the 1950's and 1960's she and husband, Wayne, were busy raising their family. She also worked several jobs during that time (part owner of A&M Grocery Store in Caseyville Township; worked in admitting at St. Mary's Hospital in E. St. Louis before returning to school and graduating in 1971 from Belleville Area College becoming a Registered Nurse, she loved that. She worked in the office of Dr. Efren Naguit in Fairview Heights for several years in the mid-1970's before moving to Godfrey, IL. There she worked many years up to her retirement at Alton Memorial Hospital, most recently serving as an Intensive Care Unit nurse. She loved gardening and enjoyed attracting and feeding hummingbirds. Flowers filled all available outdoor space, and houseplants filled the indoor space. Dolores loved Christmas (making it special for everyone), collecting Department 56 Buildings, St. Louis Football Rams & Cardinals, Cairn Terriers, mystery novels, owls, cooking & baking, and singing along with favorite gospel hymns. She honored her parents and loved her family. She is survived by her children, Darrell (Pat) Addison of Swansea, IL, Richard (Rosalie) Addison of Charleston, IL, Timothy Addison of Godfrey, IL; and Rhonda (John) Wall of Fairview Heights, IL; eight grandchildren, Joshua, Eli, and Daniel (Laura Katz) Addison, Seana (Ben) Palmer, Sara (Matthew) Kauffmann, Laura (Mike) Neuwirth, Jonathan and Jenna Wall; her great-grandchildren, Lenny Katz-Addison, Goldie Katz-Addison, and Matilda Palmer; her sisters-in-law, Cherie (Medford) Henson of Cape Girardeau, and Vickie (David) Marshall of Mount Zion; and her many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to Riverbend Humane Society in Jerseyville, IL. A tree can also be planted in Dolores's memory at www.kasslyfuneral.com. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL with Rev. David Marshall officiating. Interment will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO.
