Venetsanakos, 83, of Lynn, peacefully passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at Salem Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Born on May 25, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Frances (Palladino) Bassaras, and the loving wife of James Venetsanakos.Dolores was raised in Peabody and East Boston. She loved to spend time with her family more than anything else and enjoyed travelling with her husband. She retired as a real estate agent in 1997. Dolores was an active and beloved member in her community. She had a great love for art and was a proud member of the art guilds in Swampscott and Lynnfield, and she was very involved with the senior centers in Saugus and Lynn. She served on the boards of the Saugus Garden Club and the Saugus Historical Society for many years.She will be dearly missed and is survived by her beloved husband of 54 years, James Venetsanakos; her loving children, Joyce Venetsanakos, Christine Flores and her husband, Gene, and James Venetsanakos II and his fiancé, Angela; her grandchildren, Michael Flores and Nayommi Venetsanakos; and her two great-grandchildren, Wesley and Austin Flores.Services for Dolores will take place at a later date.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
