Dolores Blackstone Shadburn

Dolores Blackstone Shadburn, 80, of Forsyth County, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2026. She was a devout Christian and a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Cumming for 60 years.

Dolores was preceded in death by her parents, Hubert Blackstone and Marjorie (Kersey) Blackstone.

She earned both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in education and taught in Forsyth County schools for more than 30 years. During her career, she was honored as Teacher of the Year.

Dolores loved being a wife, mother, and grandmother to five grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, kayaking, teaching, and volunteering. She especially loved teaching Vacation Bible School and children’s church. Dolores was also a breast cancer survivor.

She is survived by her loving husband, Larry Shadburn; son, Tim Shadburn and daughter-in-law Alicia Shadburn; daughter, Tonya Levy and son-in-law Jeff Levy; sister, Lorita Whitaker; and her cherished grandchildren, Kate and Jack Shadburn, and Andrew, Caroline, and Gracyn Levy.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 18, at 2:00 PM in the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Bob Jolly officiating. Interment will follow at Sawnee View Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, March 17, from 12:00 to 2:00 PM and 4:00 to 7:00 PM, and on Wednesday from 12:00 PM until the time of service.
