Dolores Alleruzzo

Dolores Alleruzzo, nee Seminara, age 89, of Frankfort, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at her home, surrounded by her family. Born in Chicago to the late Salvatore and Phillipina (nee Trovato) Seminara, Dee was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who touched many lives through her kindness and quiet strength.

She was the beloved wife of 66 years to Nicholas Alleruzzo. She is survived by her loving children Nicholas (Juli Westergren) Alleruzzo, Lynn Alleruzzo, and Paul Alleruzzo, as well as her cherished grandchildren Lindsay (Mikell Wyman) Joyner, Lisa (Mark) Wiltse, Chelsea (Manuel) Baloa, Ethan (Allison LoCascio) Alleruzzo, and Adam Alleruzzo, and her proud great-granddaughter Elle Marie Wiltse. She was preceded in death by her daughter Susan Alleruzzo Joyner and her siblings Mary (Rosario) Baio and Jerome Seminara. Dee was a dear aunt, cousin, and friend to many.

A registered nurse, Dee chose to stay home to raise her children and later became the trusted neighborhood nurse for those around her. A longtime member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and Prestwick Country Club in Frankfort, she enjoyed golf with the 9-hole women’s group, organizing biannual luncheon fashion shows, and gathering with her breakfast club friends every Sunday after church. She faithfully attended her grandchildren’s sporting events, often traveling across state lines, and cherished Sunday dinners and holidays spent with family and friends.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in memory of her late daughter Susan.
