Dianne Langfahl ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Knapp Funeral Home - Milford on Mar. 5, 2026.Catherine Dianne (Burgett) Langfahl, 88, of Milford passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2026 at the Iroquois Memorial Resident Home in Watseka, IL surrounded by loved ones. She was born November 2, 1937 in Watseka to Vernon J. and Martha (Duke) Burgett and was the elder sister to Michael V. Burgett. She married her high school sweetheart William Albert Langfahl Jr. in Champaign, IL on June 15, 1956 and was a mother to four children.Dianne worked at Wellington High School, the Tazwell County Health Department, and the State of Illinois Department of Specialized Care for Children until her retirement. She was an active member of the Milford United Methodist Church.Dianne loved animals, arts and crafts, and enjoyed watching Chicago sports, particularly the Bears, Bulls, and White Sox. She was also a gifted gardener who grew and sold strawberry begonias from her greenhouse along with gifts and candles.Dianne was a loving mother and doting grandmother who took great pride in her family. She was charming, quick to laugh, and easily affectionate with those she cared for. She was very loved and will be deeply missed.She is preceded in death by her husband, William Albert; her son, William A. "Bill" Langfahl III; an infant son, Mark; an infant daughter, Jennifer; and her brother, Michael.She is survived by her daughter, Victoria "Vicki" (Ed) Shaheen of Peoria, IL and her granddaughter, Allison West of Chicago, IL.The family would like to thank the incredible staff at the Iroquois Memorial Resident Home for the diligent care and friendship they gave to Dianne during her time with them.Per her wishes, cremation rites are being handled by Knapp Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest at Maple Grove Cemetery in Milford beside to her son Bill, her husband, parents, brother, and grandparents in a private graveside service to take place at a later date.Memorials can be made to Milford United Methodist Church or Iroquois County Animal Rescue (ICARe).Please share your memories of Dianne at knappfuneralhomes.com.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
