Dianne Eloise Covey
April 12, 1944— March 8, 2026
Rutland, VT
Dianne Eloise Covey, daughter of Evelyn G. Bendig Diehm and Edward John Diehm, was born on April 12, 1944, in Rutland, Vermont. She passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by loved ones, on Sunday, March 8, 2026.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 55 years, Delmar Craig Covey, and their seven children: Erich P. Covey, Melu M. Ragsdale, Sean C. Covey, Seth G. Covey, Genevieve R. Deschaine, Suzanne H. Covey, and Heather D. Wilkins. Dianne was blessed with 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her four sisters, Bonnie Noyes, Susan Diehm Fletcher, Pamela Sinkler, and Denise Diehm, and her brother, John Diehm.
Dianne took great pride in her family and supported her children’s interests while pursuing her own passions for international travel, music, theatre, and opera. She visited Mexico, Spain, and Italy, learning Spanish so she could immerse herself in local communities and experience each country as a resident rather than a visitor. She also made several pilgrimages to New York City to attend performances by her favorite opera artists at the Metropolitan Opera and Carnegie Hall.
Her faith was the guiding force in her life. As one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, she made her ministry a central part of her daily life, sharing her beliefs with anyone who showed interest. She lived by her moral compass and sought to model those values for her children, hoping they would lead happy, loving, and successful lives. Dianne welcomed family, friends, and fellow congregation members into her home with a generous heart and a listening ear. Her example of kindness and generosity inspired all who knew her and leaves a legacy that will be remembered and celebrated for years to come.
