Diane Shepherd ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Shepherd Funeral & Cremation Service on Mar. 16, 2026.With heavy hearts, we share the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Diane Shepherd age 72. She was the devoted wife of Peter Shepherd and the heart of her family. She was the loving mother of Kerianne Smolinsky and her husband Billy, and Peter Shepherd and his wife Nancy.Nothing brought her more pride or happiness than being "Grandma" to Justin, Josh, Jake, Joey, and Sophia, who were truly the light of her life. She was the daughter of the late Jesse and Rosalie Guilford and the beloved daughter-in-law of the late Joseph and Marion Shepherd. She is survived by her siblings Nancy McKinney; Paula LaCroix and her husband Joe;Charlene Standish and her husband Bruce; Charlie Guilford and his partner Lana; Jackie Guilford and his wife Eileen; Jimmy Guilford and his wife Paula; Bobby Guilford and his wife Carol; and Joanie London and her husband Jeff. She was predeceased by her siblings Billy Guilford, Donna Torchio and her husband Tommy, and Kathy Panaggio. She was also a loving aunt to many nieces and nephews.Family was always at the center of her life. Some of her happiest moments were simple ones - cooking on holidays, scratching lottery tickets, playing Keno, and heading out for Saturday night dinners. Summers were often spent camping in Maine and at the pool with her grandchildren, making memories that her family will treasure forever. Her grandchildren meant everything to her. She loved taking care of them, watching them swim in her pool, and celebrating every birthday with homemade treats. Her whoopie pies and chocolate birthday cakes were a tradition her grandchildren looked forward to every year and will always remember. She will also be missed by her beloved cat, Minnie, who was never far from her side.More than anything, she will be remembered for her love of family, her generous heart, feisty spirit and the joy she found in the little moments spent with the people she loved most. The memories she created - holiday's around dinner tables, at the pool, on camping trips, and in the kitchen baking for her grandchildren - will live on in the hearts of those who loved her. She will be deeply missed and forever loved.Friends and family are invited to attend a graveside service that will be held on Saturday, March 21st at 11:00am at Center Cemetery in Pembroke. To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
