Diane Fink ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Janssen’s Mat-Su Funeral Home - Palmer on Mar. 5, 2026.On February 28th, 2026, Diane Marjorie (Falconer) Fink, 80 years of age, left this earthly world for her next adventure. She passed peacefully at Providence Hospital in Anchorage, Alaska, after a brief illness, surrounded by her family and the love of those in her heart.Diane was born in Seattle, Washington on September 26, 1945. She fondly remembered her childhood as one of seven siblings growing up near Haller Lake with wonderful friends and neighbors. She was an active member of Haller Lake United Methodist Church and enjoyed youth group activities. Diane graduated from Ingraham High School where she forged lifelong friends. She met the love of her life, Jerome, on the ski slopes of the Cascade Mountains, where their adventure began. They married on October 16, 1965.Raising their two daughters, Megan and Kris, was the joy of her life. The family enjoyed camping, boating, and exploring the waters and mountains of Washington. From early involvement in their preschools to leading Girl Scout troops, Diane was engaged in enriching her daughters, teaching them to be strong and independent. She carried great pride for Megan and Kris' accomplishments and was always their biggest champion.Diane made her career in managing dental and orthodontic offices, collecting dear friends along the way. Diane and Jerome moved to Raymond, Washington upon retirement, operating a bed and breakfast and providing hospitality to visitors. She became "Nana" to her two grandsons, her most favorite job of all. During these years, Diane became an accomplished quilter, winning county and state fair honors. She was a member of many quilting groups, collecting more treasured friends in Spokane and later in Palmer, Alaska where she lived the last ten years of her life. She had a lifelong love of nature and its creatures, and Alaska gave her opportunities every day to enjoy and reflect on its beauty.Diane will be remembered for her compassion for all living things, for her artistic eye, for her sense of humor, for her bakery creations, and for loving her family ten times too much. If you've been blessed with one or more of her beautiful quilts, she would want you to be comforted by its weight on your lap. Those who will miss her the most are her loving husband and best friend of 60 years, Jerome Earl Fink; daughter Megan Riebe and husband Tim Riebe, grandsons Tj and Hayden Riebe; daughter Kristine Pitcher and husband Jacques Pitcher. She is also survived by her siblings Roberta Smith, twin brother David Falconer, Kathy Gylland, Norman Falconer, Marilyn Donahue, and Gary Falconer. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents Richard and Mary Falconer, who now welcome her with open arms into Heaven. In honoring her wishes, Diane was cremated. A celebration of life will be held as the snow melts and welcomes spring in Alaska. In celebration of Diane please consider: Making a gift to Birds TLC, donating blood at the Alaska Blood Bank or your local donation center, or supporting the American Red Cross. To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
