Diane Marie (Woelfel) Scheurer, 72, of Le Center, Minnesota, passed away peacefully in the early morning of Saturday, March 14, at Mayo Clinic Health System – Mankato.Diane was born on June 5, 1953, in Redwood Falls to RoseDel and Donald Woelfel. She attended McKinley High School and later attended college at Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall, MN and received her bachelor's degree in education. Diane dedicated more than 20 years of her life to working as a teacher, touching the lives of many students throughout her career. During summers and for several years after her teaching career, Diane worked at the Le Sueur County Abstract Company until her retirement.On August 24, 1974, she was married to Robert Scheurer at St Mary's Catholic Church in Le Center, MN. Even after their marriage ended, they chose to raise their two daughters side by side—co-parenting with care, sharing the journey of parenthood, and preserving a friendship that remained strong long after their divorce.Diane was known for her loving heart, sense of humor, and her appreciation for keeping life organized and on schedule. Above all else, she treasured time with her family. She especially loved traveling to Rochester to spend time with her children and grandchildren, creating memories that will be deeply cherished.She is survived by her daughters, Kelle (Scheurer) Morse, and Kim Scheurer; her beloved grandchildren, Gabbi and Jimmie, mother, Rosedel Woelfel; siblings, Linda Huber, Mike Woelfel, Dennis (Mary Anne) Woelfel, Carol (Scott) Blaschko, and Lori (Dave) Janssen; mother-in-law, Dorothy Sheurer; brother-in-law, Ed (Cheryl) Scheurer; along with generations of nieces and nephews.Diane was preceded in death by her father, Donald Woelfel; father-in-law, Gregory Scheurer; brother-in-law, Dean Huber; and dear friend, Bob Scheurer.Diane will be remembered for her devotion to her family, her dedication to education, and the warmth and laughter she brought to those around her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 20, 2026, at 11:00 AM at St Mary's Catholic Church in Le Center, MN; Father Matthew Northenscold will officiate. A visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the church. Diane will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery in Le Center, MN at a later date.
