Diane Janet Broughman Matthew

We are sad to announce that on March 9, 2026, at the age of 88, Diane Janet Broughman Matthew of Essex, Maryland passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

In the sacred silence of farewell, Diane is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that her light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of her loved ones. And as her memory is carried forward, may comfort be found in the knowledge that love is eternal, and that Diane's spirit lives on in the beauty that surrounds us.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Daniel Kirn and Jenette Kirn; her spouse Dale Broughman; and her son Kevin Broughman. She is survived by: her daughter Theresa Holmes; and her brothers, Rodney Kirn (Dallas) and David Kirn. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren, other loving relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 16th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Connelly Funeral Home of Essex (300 Mace Ave, Essex, MD 21221). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 17th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, March 17th 2026 at the same location.
