Diane F. Scott

September 18, 1956 March 7, 2026

Oakwood, OH

Diane F. Scott, age 69, of Oakwood, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on the evening of March 7, 2026. Born on September 18, 1956, in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Diane was a near-lifelong resident of Oakwood, Ohio. A proud 1974 graduate of Oakwood High School, she remained actively involved in planning her class reunions throughout her life.

After high school, Diane began her career in the trust department at Winter’s National Bank before joining Delta Air Lines, where she worked for many years at the ticket counter in the Mead Building. In 1985, she met her future husband, Joe, at a Kentucky Derby party. Their relationship blossomed quickly, leading to a proposal at the Pine Club and their marriage on December 28, 1987. Together they raised three children—Benjamin, Molly, and Michael—filling their home with love and activity. Diane devoted herself to her children’s lives, serving as concession chair for swim teams and as a dedicated football team parent.

At the age of 40, Diane courageously returned to school and earned her nursing degree from Sinclair College in 2002. She found her true calling in hospice nursing, serving with compassion and grace for more than twenty years at Hospice of Dayton. She brought comfort and kindness to countless families during their most difficult times. Diane and Joe cherished their retirement years together, creating beautiful memories in South Haven, Michigan, Siesta Key, Florida, the Hocking Hills, and on a memorable 2025 river cruise along the Rhône. Above all, she treasured her role as “Nana,” giving baths, reading bedtime stories, and sharing quiet, joyful moments with her grandchildren.

Diane is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, Joseph Scott; her children, Benjamin (Emily) Scott, Molly (Ronald) Stump, and Michael (Annie Roth) Scott; her grandchildren, Walker and Miller Scott and Andrew Stump; and her sister, Kathleen (Scott) Workman. She was preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy Mohan, and her brother, J. Michael Faiella.
