Breesport, NY

Diane D. Lepkowski of Breesport, New York, passed away on March 10, 2026, at the age of 78. Born on January 26, 1948, in Elmira, New York, to the late Leland King and Pauline Quinn King, she grew up in Elmira and graduated from Southside High School in 1967. They married in 1969, lived downstate for a few years, and then returned to Breesport, where they made their home for the next 50 years.

Diane had a creative and industrious spirit. She ran her own sewing business, Nip and Tuck Alterations, skillfully repairing clothing and fabrics, and handcrafted hundreds of Raggedy Ann dolls. Later she worked at Toshiba in Horseheads. A lifelong animal lover, she cherished her many dogs and cats and was known for rescuing injured animals of all kinds.

She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, William “Bill” Lepkowski of Breesport; her children, Michael (Emily) Lepkowski of Lowman and Sara Lepkowski of Elmira Heights; her granddaughter, Alissa (TJ) Carpenter of Rome, Pennsylvania; her great-grandson, Cole Carpenter; her aunt, Jean Quinn; her cousin, David Quinn; her special friend, Christine “Chris” Aikman; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. She was predeceased by her son, Peter T. Lepkowski, her uncle Donald Quinn, and her aunt Helen Masterson.
