Diana Forney ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Hutton & McElwain Funeral Home - Macon on Mar. 16, 2026.Diana Lynn Forney, 79, of Macon, MO, passed away at her home on Saturday, March 14, 2026.Diana was born on February 23, 1947, in Peoria, IL, the daughter of John Francis Sr., and Matilda Jane (Earl) Buckley. She graduated from Richwoods Highschool in 1964 and married Thomas Millard Forney April 23, 1966. From which, three children were born. She moved to Missouri (or "Missourah" as she would say) in 1976. Her childhood devotion to the El Vista Baptist Church was rekindled when services began being broadcast online. Her faith and love of Jesus became the cornerstone of strength that she and her entire family drew comfort from in the final days. She spent hours outdoors in her yard, landscaping and gardening, but she also loved going to plays, garage saleing and watching her grandchildren's ball games. She enjoyed everything about the holiday season. Her elaborate miniature village brought joy to both young and old. The act of gift giving brought her immense joy, stemming back from when she was a teen and would stay busy babysitting to buy Christmas presents for her family. She never failed to "have a little something" for the grandkids for every occasion. For more than 34 years she took pride in being a bus driver for Macon R-1 Schools where she retired from in 2012. The impact she had on her bus kids continued years after their graduation and spanned for multiple generations. Many students still kept in contact with her.Diana is survived by three children, Matthew Thomas Forney and his wife Donna of Macon, Melissa Ann Austin of LaBelle, MO, and Sarah Elizabeth Marino of Macon, six grandchildren, Ladoniah, Dustin, Shelby, Charley, Annabelle and Reid.
