July 22, 1940— March 13, 2026
Schertz, TX
A much-loved wife, mother, grandmother, cousin, friend, and neighbor passed away on March 13, 2026, at the age of 85, leaving behind a legacy of love and devotion to her family.
Diana was born on July 22, 1940 to Stanley Wilson Waddington and Marguerite Peden Waddington in Perivale, England.
While visiting friends in Germany in 1965, she met the love of her life, David Walker. David and Diana married in 1966, marking the beginning of a remarkable journey together that would span nearly six decades. Together, they raised two children, Marc and Michele, and built a family grounded in strong values and bonds that stood the test of time.
We are truly saddened to say goodbye to someone who was so incredibly special and such an important part of our family. Diana, lovingly known as Nana, was an extraordinary person who touched the lives of all who knew her. Her love for her family knew no bounds. She relished every moment spent with them, and we were blessed to bask in the love she so freely gave.
Diana didn’t marry a man she could live with; she married a man she couldn’t live without. When David (Papa) passed away on February 16, 2026, Nana couldn’t imagine life without him. We take comfort in knowing she has gone to be with him once more. I know they were happily reunited and rejoicing being together again in heaven.
They shared a one-of-a-kind love story, and we will cherish every memory—of which there are so many. We will love you and miss you every single day until we see you again.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband David Walker. She is survived by son Marc Walker and spouse Tammy Walker of Schertz, TX; daughter Michele Mierzejewski and spouse John Mierzejewski of Garden City, NY; cousin Lynne Brooks and spouse Robert Brooks and son Lawrence Brooks of Sunbury-on-Thames, grandchildren Ashley Walker, Tyler and Anna-Maria Walker, Brett and Harmony Walker, Madison Walker, Nicholas Mierzejewski Luke Mierzejewski and 8 great grandchildren- Lee, Whitley, William, Logan, Ellie, Wolfe, Willow and Greyson.
Visitation services will be held at Schertz Funeral Home Sunday, March 22, 2026 from 3:00 - 6:00 PM, immediately followed by church services. The family will hold a private burial at Fort Sam Houston.
