Detrich Gerald Brooks

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Detrich Gerald Brooks of Mansfield, Texas, born in Memphis, Tennessee, who passed away on March 2, 2026 at the age of 69. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Arbrie Artison Sr. and Nancy Allen; his godparents, Willam and Lillian Buchanan; his parents-in-law, William and Lillie Harris; his siblings, Rev. Arbrie Artison Jr., Willie Earl Artison, Charles Allen Jr., Juanita Morris, Annie Lee Branch, Virgie Ingram and Doris Buchanan; his siblings-in-law, Susie Dangerfield, Bishop John Brown, William Branch Sr., Donald Ingram, Ray Dale Dangerfield, Albert Harris and Benjamin Harris; and his nephews, William Detrich Branch and Jonathan Allen Brown.

He is survived by: his wife Bernice Harris; his sisters, Maggie Frazier, Bobbie Brown and Dorothy Brownlee; and his siblings-in-law, Eula Artison, Patricia Artison, Janice Allen, Louise Marbles, Linda Banks, Emma Harris, Ella Harris, James Banks and Bruce Brownlee. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 13th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Saturday, March 14th 2026 at 7:00 AM at the Et Mansfield Funeral Home & Cremations (1556 Heritage Pkwy, Mansfield, TX 76063). A wake will be held on Friday, March 13th 2026 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the same location. Viewing will be held on Saturday, March 14th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 10:50 AM at the Et Rising Star Baptist Church (4216 Avenue M, Fort Worth, TX 76105). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 14th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Monday, March 16th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Et Grand Prairie Memorial Gardens (3001 S Belt Line Rd, Grand Prairie, TX 75052).
