Derald Curless ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Funeral Alternatives of Maine - Brunswick on Mar. 16, 2026.Derald H. Curless-Brunswick-The family of Derald H. Curless sadly announce his passing to his beloved Lord on March 12, 2026 with his loving family by his side. He was born August 23, 1926 to Charles and Harriet Brown Curless in Fort Fairfield, Maine. He served as a Seabee in the Navy during World War II in the pacific. Upon returning home he worked on the family farm and attended the University of Maine earning a degree in agriculture. In 1951 he met and married the love of his life Carolyn Johnson and together they raised two daughters. He had many accomplishments and successes as a civil engineer and construction superintendent, but he was most proud of his family. He was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. Always willing to help or provide support in any way he could. In his retirement he enjoyed volunteering his time at Midcoast Hospital, Midcoast food pantry and meals on wheels. He was a wonderful friend and neighbor, a true gentleman always with a "Can Do" attitude. He loved the Lord, being outdoors, a good meal, a good laugh and a good tease. He is survived by his daughters, Cynthia Burdzel and Cheryl Bouchard (John) both of Brunswick, his grandchildren Ryan Knight (Erin) of Harpswell, Kara Burdzel and Morgan Goodfellow (Ryan) and great granddaughter Ivy Goodfellow all of Brunswick. He will forever be in our thoughts and hearts. There will be no services at his request. To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
