He was predeceased by: his wife Marian; his parents, Ted Witt and Mabel Witt; and his daughter Sally Hurst. He is survived by: his children, Kathy Johnson (Kerry Petersen) and John Witt (Michele Witt); his grandchildren, Jacob Hurst, Jamie West (Dave West), Aaron Hurst, Nolan Johnson (Rebecca), Casey Johnson (McKenna), Bailey Witt and Rhett Witt; his great grandchildren, Holden Hurst, Treighton Higby, Wittaker West, Langdon West, Asa West, Tolson Johnson, Reagan Johnson and Riley Johnson; Richard Johnson, Jeromy Schnell (Carrie), Caleb Schnell and Madison Schnell.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 15th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Roeder Mortuary - Gretna Chapel (11710 Standing Stone Dr, Gretna, NE 68028). A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 16th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Waters Edge United Methodist Church (19600 Harrison St, Gretna, NE 68028). A burial will be held on Monday, March 16th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at the Mount Auburn Cemetery.
