Dennis Walter "Trae" Johnson III

Dennis Walter “Trae” Johnson III, of East Bernstadt, Kentucky, was born on April 13, 2006, in London, Kentucky, and passed away on March 15, 2026, at the age of nineteen. He was the beloved son of Dennis Walter Johnson II and Kindra Ellington Johnson, both of London.

Trae is survived by his siblings, Kayelynn Amburgey of East Bernstadt and Monique Johnson and Molique Johnson, both of London; his grandmother, Teresa Ellington of Somerset; his grandfathers, Kenneth Ellington and wife April of East Bernstadt, and Dennis Walter Johnson, Sr. of Virginia; and his great-grandmother, Diane Baker of East Bernstadt. He also leaves behind his niece, Kaiya Johnson, and his nephews, Liam Riley and Owen Amburgey, who knew him affectionately as “Uncle BB.” In addition, he is survived by his girlfriend, Makayla Muncy; his uncles, Chris Smith, Kenneth Cameron Ellington and wife Destiney, Knowledge Ellington, and Tyler Salva; his aunts, Kendall Ellington, Madison Sturgill, Keyona Ellington, Halo Ellington, and Kim Betts; and many other loving family members and friends.

Trae worked for Triple R Electrical Contracting. He lived life fully and found great joy in riding his RZR and spending time outdoors. Those who knew him will remember his kind heart and his readiness to help anyone who needed a hand.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Kathleen Johnson.
