Dennis Swafford

Dennis Swafford, age 85, of Milan, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2026, at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis.

Born in Milan to the late Herman A. Swafford and Callie Mae (Arrington) Swafford, Dennis spent most of his life farming, a vocation he held in deep regard. He also worked as a bus driver for Brantley Tour Buses, an experience that allowed him to travel and meet new people. He was especially proud to have taken part in approximately fifty mission trips, most of them to Mexico, where he formed lasting bonds with the people and shared his faith with them.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Larry Swafford, Ronnie Swafford, Charlotte Blankenship, and Shirley Duch.

He is survived by his children, Tim Swafford and wife April, Angie Dodd and husband Ron, Dennis Swafford Jr., and Danielle Weir and husband Brian; his sister, Patsy Swafford; his grandchildren, Christy Whalin, Jenny Bryant, Shayna Swafford, Morgan Baker, and Maicey Baker; and seven great-grandchildren.
