Bluffton, SC

Dennis Roger Kiamie, 88, of Bluffton, South Carolina, passed away on Monday, March 2, 2026, at Coastal Carolina Hospital in Hardeeville, South Carolina.

Born on September 9, 1937, in the Bronx, New York, to the late Roger Kiamie and Philomena Esposito Kiamie, Dennis grew up as a gifted athlete who excelled in every sport he played. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps, where he also played football for the Marine Corps team. After his honorable discharge, he met the love of his life, Barbara Ann Capurro. The couple shared 64 beautiful years of marriage.

Dennis worked at the New York Post for 42 years before retiring. He and Barbara then moved to Sun City Hilton Head, where they spent 26 years enjoying golf, tennis, and the warm community they found there. Their home was a gathering place filled with laughter, lively conversation, and friends who became like family. Whether on the golf course, at the tennis courts, or sharing meals together, Dennis cherished the lasting friendships and sense of belonging that defined their years in South Carolina.

He was a devoted husband, proud father of three daughters, a loving grandfather, and great-grandfather. In addition to his wife Barbara, Dennis is survived by his daughters Dawn Chemis (Dan) of Sparta, New Jersey; Karen Paul of Vernon, New Jersey; and Linda Goldstein (Steve) of Owings Mills, Maryland; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sister, Amelia McAulay.
