Dennis was born August 26, 1959, to the union of Reuben and Waulene (Scruggs) Parker in South Bend, Indiana, where he lived his entire life and built deep roots in the community he loved.Dennis attended LaSalle High School and later became known for his talent on the grill. He spent many years working as a cook and chef at AngLe's Restaurant, where he proudly served the community until his retirement.Dennis was a man who truly loved life and the people around him. He enjoyed grilling, listening to music, and spending time with his family. Known for his quick wit and warm personality, Dennis loved to joke, laugh, and make others laugh. He was also a loyal sports fan who cheered for the Boston Celtics and the Miami Dolphins. To each of his children, he was proudly known simply as "My Dad." To many of his nieces and nephews, he was known as the "Favorite Uncle". And to his grandchildren he was known as "Granddad".Those left to cherish his memory include his loving children: Tomeka (Samuel) Cruz, Ericka Parker, Domonique Parker, Faneice Douglas, Dennis Parker Jr., Rickey (Autumn) Parker, and Jermaine (Alicia) Parker.He was a proud grandfather to Jordan Whitener, Isaiah Anderson, Katrina McCully, Sierra Jackson, Alexis Jackson, Rickey Parker Jr., Amarion Parker, Mi'Amor Cruz, Darrius Townsend, Erick Parker, Carlos Mumphrey, Caleb Douglas, Azyanni Simmons, and Dennis Parker Jr.Dennis also leaves behind his sisters Macy Parker and Dorothy (Warren) Williams; his brothers Ronnie Parker, Larry (Karla) Parker, Walter (Debra) Parker, Marion (Christine) Parker, Ulues Parker, and Reuben Parker.Dennis is also survived by his close friends Tonya Winters, Victor Perry and Shawn Edwards, special cousins Paula Cannady, Wanda Richardson, and Marsha Parker, and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will all deeply miss his presence.Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Reuben and Waulene (Scruggs) Parker; his sister, Yvonne Jones; his brothers, James Parker and Rufus Parker; his lifelong partner, Marilyn "Pete" Coleman; his son, Tyrone Watford; his grandsons, Jeremiah Parker and Errol Townsend; and his great-granddaughters, Weslyn Walker and Nyielle Jones.Dennis will be remembered for his laughter, his love for family, and the joy he brought into every room he entered. While our hearts grieve his absence, we trust in God's promise that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Dennis's laughter, love, and legacy will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.As a father and grandfather, Dennis gave his family something that will never fade-his presence, his humor, his guidance, and his unconditional love. The lessons he taught, the memories he created, and the joy he brought into the lives of his children and grandchildren will live on for generations.
