Dennis Leonard Grove

1960 — 2026

Guymon, OK

Dennis Leonard Grove, 65, of Guymon, Oklahoma, passed away on March 14, 2026, after an 11-month battle with cancer. He approached the end of his life with the same steady spirit and love for those around him that defined his time on earth.

Born on May 24, 1960, to Leonard and Aurelia “Tex” Grove, Dennis spent his early years as the cherished only child of a family that loved loudly, proudly, and fiercely. He was later joined by his brother Doyle, and though he initially resisted sharing the spotlight, Dennis held his family close throughout his life. A proud graduate of Guymon High School with the class of 1978, he was deeply involved in Guymon athletics. He coached his younger brother in baseball and later coached his own son and many other young athletes, teaching them respect for the game, the diamond, and themselves.

Dennis’s passions extended far beyond the ballfield. He cherished his 1988 Shovel Head Harley, a love that began in his youth and remained with him through every chapter of his life. He played competitive softball long after doctors advised against it, enduring multiple surgeries from sports-related injuries with his characteristic humor intact. Known for his mischievous grin and quick laugh, Dennis had a gift for turning friends into family. Whether golfing, fishing, riding motorcycles, or competing in pool league, he forged deep, lasting bonds that felt more like brotherhood than friendship.

Above all, Dennis was proud of his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his son Zachary Grove; daughters MaKenzee Grove and her husband Carter Stewart, and Marisa Grove and her husband Joe Torchia; grandchildren Kyla, Bostyn, Shasta, Christian, and Emma; and his beloved fur grandchildren Ava, Scout, Callahan, Flerken, Abraxos, and Conrad, who was his faithful morning coffee companion. He also leaves behind his niece and nephew KyLeigh Grove and Isaac Grove, whom he loved as his own, great-niece Korra, great-nephew Jasper, two maternal uncles, and several cherished cousins.
