Dennis Lazuta, 82, built the Kolodiy-Lazuta Funeral Home from the ground up and devoted more than 45 years to serving families across Greater Cleveland with care, compassion, and dignity. A proud graduate of St. Ignatius High School, he went on to earn a degree in psychology and became a certified mortician. Drafted into the Vietnam War, he served with honor in a role that required respect and reverence for fallen service members.
Known for his storytelling and quick wit, Dennis loved all sports, especially football, and the lively banter that came with them. He remained deeply devoted to his church, gave generously to philanthropic causes, and stayed actively committed to his community, friends, and family.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy; sons Christopher (Kristen) and Derin (Ashley); stepdaughters Christina (Christopher) and Tatiana (Pawel); nephew Danny; and grandchildren Avery, Caroline, Kendall, and Arthur. He was preceded in death by his parents, Max and Mary, and his brothers, Gene and Mike.
