Strayer, age 74, of York, passed away at Dallastown Nursing Center on March 15, 2026. He was the loving husband of the late Paula E. (Gerberick) Strayer; together they shared 36 years of marriage.Dennis was born in York, PA, on February 19,1952, and was the son of the late Jack E. and Gloria L. (Paules) Strayer. Dennis dedicated 36 years of his career as a superintendent with Wagman Heavy Civil (formerly G.A. & F.C. Wagman). He was an avid hunter who especially enjoyed taking trips to Wyoming and spending time at Hackers Hunting Camp. Dennis was a loving and devoted grandfather who proudly supported his grandchildren in all their activities. He was a lifetime member of the Hawks Club, a loyal Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies fan, and he loved watching sprint car races and attending Central York sporting events. Above all, Dennis cherished the time he spent with his loving family.Dennis is survived by his daughters Jennifer L. Strayer and life partner Matt Grim and Megan N. Waltemyer and husband Terry; his grandchildren Madelyn, Bailey, Carter, Gavin, and Kendall; his sister Debra McGhee and husband Jeff; his nephew Steven Mutzel; and his nieces Kristen McGhee and Kimberly McGhee. He was preceded in death by his nephew Bradley McGhee.A Funeral Service in celebration of Dennis' life will be held on Monday, March 23, 2026 at 11:00AM at Beck Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc., of East York, 3670 E. Market St., York, PA 17402 with Pastor Rodney Anderson officiating. Following the service, he will be laid to rest next to his wife at Paddletown Cemetery in Etters. The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday from 10:00AM – 11:00AM prior to the service at the funeral home.The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Visiting Angels and Dallastown Nursing facility for the exceptional care and compassion they showed their dad.In lieu of flowers, contributions in Dennis' memory may be made to the Dementia Society of America, P.O.
