Born on March 12, 1949, in Marine City, Michigan, Dennis was the proud son of the late Kenneth and Mildred (Achatz) Danneels. His life was a testament to the values of hard work, service, and generosity.Dennis's legacy is carried on by his loving family, including his five children, Dennis (Shellie) II, Kristie, Lana (Brian) Anderson, Tammy (Matt) Sherman, and Zachary (Heather). He was a grandfather to Brooke, Brandie, Shayne, Justin, Taylor, Damyn, Joslyn, and Romyn and a great-grandfather to Haisley, Jackson, Sutton, and Myles. His siblings, John (Carol), Michael, and Joyce (Angel) Cornejo, along with many nieces and nephews, also survive him. Dennis was preceded in death by his brother, Odille Danneels, with whom he now rests in peace.Dennis honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. After his military service, Dennis continued to embody the spirit of selflessness and dedication in his civilian life.He found joy in the simple pleasures of life, such as landscaping, mowing grass, and staying active through exercise. A true fan at heart, Dennis loved cheering for the Detroit Lions, never giving up on the chance to win a superbowl. His love for his community was evident in the way he took care of those around him. Dennis was known for his unwavering dedication to the veterans memorial in Marine City, ensuring it was a place of honor and beauty, always mowing the grass and keeping the flowers watered.Dennis's life was defined by his willingness to give to others. He often lent a helping hand to his neighbors, friends, and anyone in need. His kindness and the care he provided to the people of Marine City will be deeply missed and forever remembered.As we bid farewell to Dennis Edward Danneels, we celebrate a life well-lived, marked by devotion to family, country, and community. His memory will continue to inspire those who knew him to live with the same compassion and dedication that he demonstrated every day. Though he has left this world, the impact of his generous spirit will endure in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know him.A celebration of Dennis's life and a sharing of memories will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Grace Memorial-Bower Rose Funeral Home, 222 N. Main Street, Marine City, MI 48039.
