Dennis David Bagwell

January 11, 1948 March 13, 2026

Rome, GA

Dennis David “David” Bagwell, 78, of Rome, Georgia, passed away on March 13, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.

Born on January 11, 1948, in Rome to the late Eddie Mae and Horace Edward Bagwell, David attended West Rome High School. In his youth he played baseball and the drums, and he carried a lifelong passion for sports, especially football and baseball. On January 11, 1972, he married the love of his life, Patricia Bagwell. Together they raised five daughters, beginning with their first in 1974. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Jennifer Bagwell.

David worked 37 years at Fairbanks, retiring from the factory with quiet pride in the life he provided for his family. A devoted Georgia Bulldogs fan, he could be heard cheering loudly whenever the games were on. He enjoyed wearing many hats, eating peanuts, scratching lottery tickets, and savoring a strawberry milkshake. Above all, he was a family man who delighted in gently aggravating his wife and grandchildren while always making sure everyone was safe.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia Bagwell; daughters Felicia Breeden, Misty Bagwell, Jessica Bagwell, and Ashley Bagwell; ten grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; siblings Linda Shores, Judy Bolinger, and Kenneth Bagwell; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who loved him dearly. His laughter, stories, and unmistakable voice cheering for his teams will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
