Mr. Dennis Anthony Rowe, Jr., passed away at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia, on March 13, 2026, at the age of 90. Born in Wilmington, Delaware, on February 4, 1936, to Rose Marie and Dennis Anthony Rowe, Sr., he grew up attending St. Joseph on the Brandywine grade school and graduated from A.I. DuPont High School in 1956. He later studied at Embry-Riddle University and the University of Maryland.
Dennis began his military service in 1953 with the Delaware Air National Guard, serving as a crew chief on the F-86 Sabre Jet. He then joined the U.S. Army, where he became an aviator and dedicated 25 years to his country. His career took him to Hawaii, Korea, Oklahoma, Georgia, and Alabama, including two combat tours in Vietnam. He later served as a primary flight instructor at Fort Rucker, Alabama. After retiring, he devoted himself fully to caring for his beloved wife of 42 years, Katherine Anne Rowe, until her passing in 2000.
In his later years, Mr. Rowe remained deeply committed to service. He volunteered with the DAV, transporting veterans to VA hospitals in Tuskegee and Montgomery, and worked as a tour guide at the U.S. Army Aviation Museum. A proud member of the Vietnam Helicopter Pilots Association and the 147th and 178th Assault Support Helicopter Crewmember Associations, he was also an active parishioner at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Enterprise, Alabama.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Katherine, and his brother James Michael Rowe. Dennis is survived by his four sons, Dana Michael Rowe and wife Licia, Keith Alan Rowe, James Michael Rowe and wife Christine, and Curtis Alan Rowe and wife Lorena, along with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and his dear friend Donna Watson Swift.
