Dennis Ray Andrews, 69, of Lumberton, North Carolina, passed away on March 9, 2026, at UNC-Southeastern Hospital. Born on December 19, 1956, in Lumberton to the late Henry Alton and Myrtle Rose Andrews, he was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Wayne Andrews.

He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Melody; his daughters, Renee Andrews of Dillon, South Carolina, and Allison Andrews of the home; bonus sons Johnny Hyatt and Adrain Hammonds; grandchildren Laiken Barnes and Kaylee Barnes; great-grandson Jakota Barnes; bonus daughters Jeannine Allen, Miranda Bennett-Russell, and Bobbie Jo Hunt; his sisters, Gwendolyn Rose Andersen and Betty Fardoulis; his brother, Alton (Al) Andrews, Jr.; and a host of other family and friends.

Dennis cared deeply for his family and had a gift for making those around him feel valued and supported. He possessed a giving heart and brought comfort and laughter to everyone he knew. His greatest joys were spoiling his wife and daughters, cheering on the UNC Tar Heels, sharing stories from his service in the 82nd Airborne, and spending time on the golf course. Whether competing in the game, enjoying the outdoors, or sharing the moment with his golfing buddies, golf offered him happiness and peace.

He will be remembered for his love, his dedication to family, and the quiet joy he found in the simple pleasures of life, especially a good day on the golf course. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved him.
