Dennis will be greatly missed by family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Karen; sister, Jaelynn Payne Walker (Larry Reed); nephews, Brandon Sissom (Savannah), Cedric Sissom (Quincey); cousin, Tim (Tammy) Tisher; uncle, Charles Tisher.Dennis was a talented musician who sang and played guitar. As a music lover, Dennis and Karen often traveled to music festivals, but his favorite group was always The Grateful Dead. He also enjoyed taking trips with Karen to St. George Island, Florida, or any warm, sunny beach.Dennis had many friends from all walks of life. He was an excellent cook & enjoyed cooking for gatherings with his friends. Dennis Payne will always be known as a compassionate, kind-hearted man who wanted everyone to be happy and to enjoy life.Special thanks to his close friends Tammy & Richard Harrington, Susie Qualls, and Cindy Jenkins.In lieu of flowers, Dennis had requested donations be made to the Coffee County Humane Society or the American Diabetes Association.A graveside service will be held Thursday, March 12, 2026, at 1pm at Wesley Chapel Cemetery in the Viola Community.Central Funeral Home is honored to serve the Payne family, 931-723-7774, centralfuneralhome.comTo plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
