Denise Claudette Bumgardner

Denise Claudette Bumgardner, born August 9, 1963, in Charlotte, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at her residence on March 9, 2026. She was a devoted member of her community, a cherished family member, and a beloved friend whose warmth and spirit touched many.

Denise dedicated her career to Sheppard Inc., where she was known for her expertise and dedication as a concert stage setup organizer. Her meticulous attention to detail and calm presence ensured that countless events went smoothly, reflecting her commitment and professionalism. Outside of work, she found great joy in the simple pleasures of life. She was often seen walking her cherished Australian Shepherd, Blu, and enjoying the freedom of riding her electric scooter. Denise’s love for life was evident in every moment spent with her family and friends and her active participation in gatherings at Sharon Freewill Baptist Church, a community she held dear.

Born in Charlotte, Denise remained deeply connected to her roots throughout her life, embracing the values and friendships cultivated in her hometown. She is lovingly remembered by her son, Dillion Barrett, who continues to carry forward her legacy; her sister, DeRe Bumgardner and her cousins, Todd Kitchen and Darren Kitchen. Denise’s beloved companion, her dog Blu, also survives her, a faithful friend during all seasons of her life.

Denise was preceded in death by her parents, Alexander and Faye Bumgardner, whose memories live on in the hearts of those who knew them. She also mourned the loss of her daughter, Shelly Bumgardner, whose memory remains a precious part of Denise’s story.

A memorial gathering will take place on March 21, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the Abbington Place Apartment Clubhouse, located at 2004 Castleton Ct., Belmont, NC 28012. This gathering will provide an opportunity for all who knew Denise to celebrate her life, share their memories, and honor her enduring spirit.

Denise Claudette Bumgardner’s life was a testament to love, resilience, and kindness. Though she is no longer with us, her spirit will forever remain a guiding light for those who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy lives on through her family, friends, and the many lives she touched with her grace and generosity.
