Delta Sue Conkin

Delta Conkin, 79, of Kingsport passed away on Friday, March 13, 2026, at Holston Valley Medical Center. She was the daughter of the late Hubert and Kate Greene. Delta graduated from Sullivan West High School, ETSU and finished with a Masters degree from Tusculum College. She was previously married to the late Richard Conkin and they had four children. After completing her Masters degree she started her career as a Cost Accountant with Pilot Oil and Gas in Knoxville, TN. She resided there until moving back to Kingsport in 2017.

She was preceded in death by her Parents: Hubert Greene & Kate Greene; sister-in-law, Margaret Greene; nephew, Todd Greene; and great nephew, Luke Greene.

Delta is survived by her children, Tammy Payne (Shea), Susie Powell (Allen), Traci Wilson (Gavin), Travis Conkin; grandchildren, Paula Bogle (Chuck), Austin Payne, Olivia Powell, Seth Powell (Alix), Hannah Haywood (Jordan), Emma Powell, Brianna Cox (Hunter), and Blake Wilson; great grandchildren, Rileigh, Sayrah, Connor, Lucas, Amara, Elsie, Mylah; siblings: Carl “Eddie” Greene, Sandra Robbins (Bill), and a special lifelong friend Marlene Kindle.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. A memorial service will follow at 7 p.m. with Pastor Todd Jennings officiating.
