Deloris L. Luse, 99, of Cedar Rapids, died on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at the Woodlands in the Meth-Wick Community.
Born on March 22, 1926, in Dodgeville, Wisconsin, to Amos and Minnie (Widish) Jorgenson, Deloris became a registered nurse in 1947. She married Edward C. Luse in the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa, and together they raised their sons while she worked for William Basler, M.D.
A charter member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church, Deloris remained deeply active in her faith community throughout her life. She found quiet joy in baking, sewing, tending her vegetable garden, and taking daily walks. In her later years she cherished regular phone calls with her granddaughter and visits from her nieces and nephews, as well as friendly conversations with fellow residents at Meth-Wick.
She is survived by her son, Glen (Paula) Luse, grandchildren Kenny Luse and Allison Luse, and her sister, Joyce Shaffer. Deloris was preceded in death by her husband, Edward C. Luse, her sons Kenneth Luse and Paul Luse, and her siblings Elizabeth Schmitt and LaVerne Jorgenson.
