Reynoldsville, PA
Deloris Alberta (Gibson) Smith, 97, of Reynoldsville, Pennsylvania, passed away on March 13, 2026, while residing at Christ the King Manor. Born on August 16, 1928, in DuBois, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Robert G. and Ruby A. (Fox) Gibson. She graduated from Reynoldsville High School and attended DuBois Business College.
In 1950, Deloris married Russell Albert Smith in Reynoldsville; he preceded her in death. She worked at the First National Bank of Reynoldsville, and together with Russell she owned and operated Sugar Hill Limestone Company and Farmer Smith’s Greenhouse. A longtime member of the Reynoldsville Lutheran Church, Deloris was remembered as a devoted wife, mother, sister, and grandmother. She was an avid reader with a keen interest in politics, cherished the Clarion River, and enjoyed spending time on the west coast of Florida. Above all, she treasured moments with her family, her dogs, and quiet evenings with wine and charcuterie.
She is survived by her daughter, Maryjo Pigott of Boca Grande, Florida, and Bedminster, New Jersey; her brother, David Gibson of Placida, Florida, and Erie, Pennsylvania; and two grandsons, Noah William Shaffer of San Diego, California, and Erik Russell Shaffer of New York City. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert, Edwin, and Irvin Gibson.
