Delores Mae Widener

Delores Widener, 88, of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away on March 4, 2026. Born on April 5, 1937, in St. Joseph, she was the daughter of the late Lillian and Alva Mead. She graduated from Lafayette High School and spent her life as a devoted homemaker.

Delores found deep joy in her faith as a longtime member of New Home Baptist Church, where she faithfully played the piano and organ every Sunday. She also cherished gardening, crafting, ceramics, and many peaceful years of camping with her husband, Bill, whom she later cared for with quiet strength and love.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Widener, her parents, her son Timothy Lee Widener, and her granddaughter Serenity. Delores is survived by her son Bill Widener of Platte City, Missouri; grandchildren Scott Widener of St. Joseph, Bryan (Tania) Widener of Moodus, Connecticut, Ben Widener, and Melinda (Steve) Wilson; seven great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and her sister, Shirley Matthews.
