Delores Pearson ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Bienhoff Funeral Homes, L.C. - Vandalia on Mar. 10, 2026.Delores Jean Pearson, 84, of Vandalia, passed away at 1:40 PM Monday, March 9, 2026 at Hannibal Regional Hospital.She was born August 5, 1941 the daughter of Harry and Clarice Friess Simmons.Delores married James Henry Pearson on September 16, 1962 and he preceded her in death on November 27, 2007.Survivors include one daughter; Elaine (Jeff) Litwiller of Douglas, WY, two brothers; Jerry (Gayle) Simmons and Dennis (Cindy) Simmons, one sister; JoAnn Edwards, along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother; Ron Simmons and one sister; Alice Hendrix.Delores enjoyed spending time caring for her flowers and working in her flower garden. She was a wonderful cook who especially loved baking, and she was well known for her coconut cream and chocolate pies, which she often shared with friends and neighbors. Delores also enjoyed collecting snowmen and was a Christian by faith.Later in life, Delores moved to Vandalia from the Boonville area. Throughout the years she held several careers, including managing a school kitchen and later working in electronics at Walmart. While there, she enjoyed visiting with customers and was always making new friends, as she was known for her outgoing and friendly personality even winning mother of the year in the late 1980's given out by the Boonville newspaper.Private family services will be held with interment in Mount Pleasant Cemetery in New Franklin.Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association mailed in care of Bienhoff Funeral Home PO Box 54 Vandalia, MO 63382Online condolences may be made at www.bienhofffuneralhome.comTo plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
