Dee was born March 15, 1928, in Duncannon, Pennsylvania. She was full of kindness, compassion, grace and love for her family and friends. She was grateful for a long life full of wonderful and varied experiences.She is preceded in death by her parents, Edgar and Catherine Smith, husband, Joseph "Joe" R. Neigh Jr., three siblings and two grandsons Alex Hinton and Kevin J. Stanton.She is survived by her children, Gwen Stanton (Kevin), Joseph R. Neigh III (Yvonne), Roger S. Neigh (Laura) and Carol Foster; grandchildren, David Clem (Sarah), John "Jack" Hinton, Joseph R. Neigh IV, Chris D. Neigh (Brittany) and eight great-grandchildren.The love story of Dee and Joe began at WEST Radio Station in Easton, PA. They were happily married from 1949 until Joe's passing in 2007. Together they raised four children. They lived in several States before settling down in Alexandria in 1960. They took many road trips, North and South, East and West as well as a trip around the world.Dee was a loving wife and mother. She was very active in church and the community. Over the years she was an active member of many clubs including the Mt Vernon House and Garden Club, Lydia's Circle at Aldersgate, Antique Club, Mt Vernon Quilters, and Homemakers.Dee had many talents and diverse interests. As well as being a talented artist, she enjoyed entertaining, gardening, flower arranging, quilting, sewing, cooking, knitting, square dancing, and so much more.A visitation will be held Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at Aldersgate United Methodist Church,1301 Collingwood Road, Alexandria, VA at 10AM, funeral service will immediately follow. Interment Mt. Comfort Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Aldersgate United Methodist Church or a charity of your choice in memory of Delilah Neigh.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
