She was born on July 25, 1952, in Raymondville, Texas, to Jesus and Casimira Salazar.Delia spent many years of service as a Home Health Provider until 2024. She was known for her caring spirit and dedication to helping others through her work. She previously worked as a Cook at the King Ranch in earlier years. Delia was the heart and soul of her family. Not only was she a devoted partner and mother, but a grandmother and great-grandmother. Her life was marked by sacrifice, laughter, strength, and unconditional love. She will be remembered for her kindness, her wisdom, and her unwavering dedication to family. She was a hardcore fan of the Dallas Cowboys and enjoyed her time playing bingo with her close friends.Delia is preceded in death by her brothers, Juan Salazar, Raymundo Salazar, and Thomas Salazar; her granddaughter, Laura Megan Alegria, and grandson, Mike Rubealcaba, Jr.She leaves behind a loving family who will cherish her memory: her partner of 32 years, Maximino Carrales, Jr., of Kingsville, TX; her daughters, Melissa Alegria Lopez (Jose), Josie Alegria (Mike), Sarah Alegria, Diana Alegria Villarreal (Juan), Mindy Alegria, Erica Colunga (Celso), step-daughter Melissa Rosales (Jesus); her sons, Robert Alegria, Jr. (Candice), Michael Alegria (Elia), and Rene Colunga, Jr; 29 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; her sisters, Sylvia Guajardo (Juan) of Raymondville, TX, Olga Diaz (Arthur) and Martha Salazar of McKinney, Carol Labrada of Arlington, TX, Rosa Salazar of Allen, TX, Lucy Resendez of Kingsville, TX, Angie Torres and Susie Chilel of Estherville, Iowa; her brothers, Henry Salazar (Ana) of San Perlita, TX, and Jesus Salazar, Jr., of San Francisco, CA.; as well as many nieces and nephews.Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 19, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Ramirez-Salinas Funeral Home, with a religious service at 7:00 p.m.A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, March 20, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Ramirez-Salinas Funer Home, with Pastor Servando Torres officiating. Interment will follow at Santa Gertrudis Memorial Cemetery.In Lieu of flowers, monetary donations can be made directly to Ramirez-Salinas Funeral Home for the funeral service expenses.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
