Delbert Lyons, aged 73, of Pontotoc, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2026, at NMMC-Tupelo. Born on August 6, 1952, in Dorsey, Mississippi, he was one of a set of twin boys born to Paul and Ila Mae Galloway Lyons. A proud 1972 graduate of Algoma High School, Delbert found joy in playing cards with friends at the club, cherished his collection of classic cars, and remained a devoted fan of Ole Miss football throughout his life. Above all, he was a loving husband, father, and grandfather whose family was the center of his world.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Lyons, and their daughters, Jessica, Jennifer, and Harley Lyons, all of Pontotoc. He also leaves behind his sisters, Betty Whitten and Laura Franklin (Donald) of Pontotoc, and Nancy Phillips (Ronny) of Tupelo, as well as his cherished grandchildren, Samuel Chase Hunter, Jacob “Hook” Crane II, Evie Kate Crane, Summer Sullivan, and Jules Rae Crane. Delbert was deeply loved by many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his seven brothers, Clyde, Gene, James, Wayne, Clint, Sam, and his twin brother Elbert Lyons, his two sisters Barbara McAlpin and Hazel Houston, and his brother-in-law Joe Phil Whitten.
In a final act of generosity, Delbert gave the gift of life through organ donation, offering hope and healing to others.
