Born on June 29,1950, in Providence, Rhode Island, Deirdre's life was a testament to her loving, kind, and gentle nature.Deirdre's journey began as the cherished daughter of the late Richard and Helena (Smith) Dunn. She spent her formative years in Barrington before moving to East Providence in 1960, where she would lay down roots and become a treasured member of the community. Deirdre's devotion to her family was evident in her over 50-year marriage to her beloved husband, Francis Lopes. Together, they built a life filled with love and lasting memories.A dedicated homemaker, Deirdre's life revolved around the care and comfort of her family. She was the proud mother of Richard Lopes of East Providence, who inherited her warmth and compassionate spirit. Deirdre was also a supportive sister to Greg Dunn and his wife Kathy of North Carolina, and Jeff Dunn and his wife Diane of New Jersey. Her family circle extended to her brother-in-law, Paul Lopes and his late wife Marilyn of Cape Cod, Massachusetts. Deirdre's love and guidance also touched the lives of her many nieces and nephews, who will fondly remember her for her nurturing presence.Deirdre's faith played a significant role in her life. She was a former parishioner of Sacred Heart Church, where she found strength and solace in her beliefs. Her kindness and gentle demeanor were a beacon of light within the congregation, and she will be deeply missed by those who worshiped alongside her.Throughout her life in East Providence, Deirdre's interests reflected her love for her community and her commitment to making it a better place for all. She forged lasting friendships and was always ready to lend a helping hand or a listening ear to those in need.
