Decima Virginia Young was born on September 6, 1969, in the Bronx, New York, the beloved daughter of the late Virginia D. Camps and Roland F. Camps. She passed away on March 4, 2026.
After relocating to South Carolina, Dee, as she was affectionately known, attended Richland School District One Schools and graduated from W. J. Keenan High School in Columbia. She went on to earn an associate’s degree in the medical field and was employed by the State of South Carolina at C. M. Tucker and Pruitt Health Nursing Homes.
A woman of deep faith, Dee accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior in her early years and became a member of Trinity Baptist Church. She cherished her family and friends deeply, finding joy in traveling, gathering with loved ones, and sharing laughter and good times.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Deborah Davis, and her brothers Tony Reardon and Jose Diaz Jr. Decima is survived by her loving daughter, Yolonda (Hakim) Hopgood; her three devoted sons, Xavius Camps, Tyrone Young Jr., and Emmanuel Young; five cherished grandchildren, Josiah Herbert, Ariyahna Hopgood, Honesty Hopgood, Aroura Young, and Liani Young; her brothers Terry Reardon, Mikey (Shirley) Diaz, and Roland (Rylee) Camps Jr.; her sisters Susan Bostick, Comara Lewis, Regina Diaz, and Evangelina Diaz; and a host of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives, and dear friends who will miss her dearly.
