Debra L. White, 71, originally from Rochester, New York, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2026 at the Mike Conley Hospice House in Clermont, Florida, after a long illness with COPD. She was surrounded by her son, Judson; granddaughter, Kira; and nephew, Daniel. Born on March 23, 1954 in Rochester to Merle and Elizabeth Matteson (Rosier), Debra found the love of her life a few years after high school when she met Steven C. White. The couple shared 35 years of happiness together, with Steven remaining the light that brightened her world. Their union was blessed with a son who brought even greater joy to their lives.
A dedicated nurse from the moment she earned her degree, Debra spent many years caring for others. Her compassion touched countless lives and fostered many lifelong friendships.
Debra was predeceased by her husband, Steven C. White; her parents, Merle and Elizabeth Matteson; her sister, Theda R. Weidenbach (Matteson); and her brother, Jon G. Matteson.
She is survived by her son, Judson F. White; granddaughters, Kira and Aaliyah White; her sister and brother-in-law, Rise G. Venette (Matteson) and Michael P. Dirkx; her brother and sister-in-law, Merle F. Matteson, Jr. and Cathy; nephews and their wives, Daniel L. Venette and Kelsey, and David F. Matteson and Kathryn; niece and nephew-in-law, Kimberly Tadlock (Weidenbach) and David; nephew Joseph Weidenbach; and Steve White’s siblings, Patty and Charlie White. A celebration of her life is being planned for May in Rochester, New York.
