Newport Beach, CA
Debra Armour Archer, born September 8, 1963, in Newport Beach, California, passed away unexpectedly. The youngest of three daughters, she was known from an early age for her intelligence, sass, and unmistakable spark. Throughout her life she carried a true gypsy spirit, always eager for the next adventure and unafraid to follow her passions wherever they led.
Debra’s greatest love was horses. She felt a natural connection with them from childhood, and this passion became a lifelong vocation. An accomplished horse trainer, she was respected for her skill, patience, and dedication to both horses and riders. She shared her gift by teaching riding lessons, helping others discover the same joy and confidence she found in the saddle. In 1993 she founded the NSBRA in Northern California, building a vibrant community around the sport she cherished.
Beyond the arena, Debra was a creative soul who sang, wrote songs, and expressed her artistic spirit in many ways. She had a keen eye for beauty and shared her unique sense of style through collecting and selling jewelry. Above all, she was known for her generous heart, giving freely of her time, talents, and compassion while putting others before herself. Those who knew her remember a woman who lived boldly, loved deeply, and brought laughter and warmth wherever she went.
Debra will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched through her adventurous spirit, creative gifts, and loving heart. Her memory lives on in the riders she inspired, the music she created, and the love she shared so freely.
