Debra Ann Rickerd

Debra Ann Rickerd, age 69, passed away on March 9, 2026. Following in her mother’s footsteps, she became a nurse and graduated from Eastern Kentucky University with a BSN in 1979. She devoted her career to public health, retiring from the Lexington-Fayette County Public Health Department in June 2008.

Her life centered on her three brothers, Thomas (Leslie) Rickerd, Timothy (Terri) Rickerd, and Brian (Rebecca) Rickerd, whom she cherished as the stars of her universe. She deeply loved her nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews, as well as the many dogs that shared her home over the years. Debra was also blessed with a wide circle of irreplaceable friends whom she held close to her heart.

She often described her life as filled with “blessings too numerous to count and too obvious to deny.” Those who knew her will remember the warmth, loyalty, and quiet strength she brought to every relationship.
