Deborah Owens

1956 — 2026

Aiken, SC

Deborah Owens, known affectionately as Sissy to her family and Debbie to her friends, passed away on March 11, 2026, after a short illness. Born on September 18, 1956, she was the beloved daughter of Willard “Boots” Rhodes and Ora Brady. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Owens.

Debbie lived in Georgia, California, and North Carolina before settling with Jim and their son Quintin in Aiken, South Carolina, more than forty years ago. She brought warmth and beauty to her corner of the world through her crafting and her lifelong dedication to caring for children and the elderly. A kind and gentle soul with a wonderful sense of humor, she opened her home each summer to younger siblings, nieces, and nephews who lived farther away, creating cherished memories filled with laughter and togetherness. Her caregiving was unmatched; she lovingly tended to her own parents in their later years and extended that same compassion to others in her community.

She is survived by her son, Quintin Owens (Joy), grandsons Jordan Owens (Hope) and Connor Owens, great-grandson Liam, and siblings Bill Rhodes of Hendersonville, North Carolina, Jason Rhodes of Asheville, North Carolina, Justin Rhodes of Fletcher, North Carolina, Kelly Rhodes Paschall of Puryear, Tennessee, and Asher Rhodes of North Wales, Pennsylvania, along with several cousins, nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren. Her kindness, generous heart, and joyful spirit will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched.
