Deborah Marie "Bourland" Strickland

March 10, 1956 March 1, 2026

Osborn, MO

Deborah "Debbie" Marie Strickland, 69, of Osborn, Missouri, passed away on March 1, 2026. Born on March 10, 1956, in Bay City, Michigan, to Jesse Charles and Delores Marie (Powell) Bourland, Debbie lived a life marked by resilience and joy. Twenty-four years ago she received a heart transplant at UCLA Medical Center, a gift that granted her a cherished second chance at life.

A devoted homemaker, Debbie found deep happiness in music and movement. She loved singing the songs of the 1950s and the Motown era, including the Temptations, the Supremes, the Big Bopper, Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and Wayne Watson. She enjoyed dancing and entertaining, yet nothing brought her greater joy than her husband Terry, whom she called the love of her life. She treasured every moment spent with her children, grandchildren, and her beloved dog.

Debbie was preceded in death by her father, Jesse Bourland; her brothers, Roger and Mark Bourland; and her husband, Terry Strickland.

She is survived by her son, Michael Willard of Osborn, Missouri; stepdaughter, Nikki Baldwin; ten grandchildren, Meghan, Jessica, Cynthia, Michael, Kody, Ryan, Tori, Kyla, Christopher, Dylan, and Tyler; her mother, Delores Nicholson of Winters, California; two brothers, Pete Bourland of Winters, California, and Dennis Bourland of Bethany, Missouri; and three sisters, Sharon Grace of Kannapolis, North Carolina, Nancy Torok of Amarillo, Texas, and Cindy Waters of Hesperia, California.
