Deborah L. Butler passed away peacefully on March 12, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones. Born in Waterloo, New York, Debbie devoted her life to caring for others, both personally and professionally. She worked for many years in emergency communications, serving the Village and Town of Manlius, the Onondaga County Sheriff's Office, and the Onondaga County 911 Department, where she formed lifelong friendships. She was also a longtime member of the Cavalry Club, where she assisted with veterans' ceremonies and youth swim programs, and remained an active member of the Church of St. Michael & St. Peter.
Debbie was predeceased by her stepson Anders Anderson Butler, Jr., granddaughters Sophia Butler and Sarah Doody, and her brother David McWhorter. She is survived by her husband, Anders Butler; her children Thomas Butler (Chrissa), Elizabeth Osucha (Joseph III), James Butler (Clare), and Deborah A. Butler (Shaun); stepdaughter Deanna Doody; her seven grandchildren and four step-grandchildren; and her siblings Johnny McWhorter (Debbie M.), Cheri Miller (Bruce), and Becky McWhorter (Dan), along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.
