She was predeceased by: her parents, Daniel Mendelson and Rose Mendelson; and her grandmother Deborah. She is survived by: her children, Gail Allan and Bruce Weiner; her children-in-law, John Allan and Betsy Weiner; her grandchildren, Josh, Jess, Daniel and Laura; her great grandchildren, Julie and Emilee; her sibling's children, Leslie, Susie, Izzy and Arlene; and her cousin Arlene.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 10th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Congregation Agudat Achim (2117 Union St, Schenectady, NY 12309). Deborah devoted more than twenty years of her professional life to helping others through the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP). As Director of RSVP in Suffolk County, New York, she led and inspired more than 1, 000 senior volunteers each year, who provided vital service to nonprofit organizations and communities throughout the region.
