Peters, 71, of Woodstock, passed away peacefully in her home on Thursday, Mar. 12, 2026.She was born Mar. 6, 1955, to Richard and Helen Bartsch.She bartended at the family bar, West Main Street Pub in Huntley, where she met the love of her life, Daniel Lynn Peters. The pair would get married on May 2, 1981 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Woodstock. She enjoyed throwing parties at the family bar, along with cooking at the Woodstock Moose Lodge, pushing her to pursue her lifelong passion of cooking. She graduated from culinary school in her mid-50s, and then went on to be the head of the employee kitchen at the Marriott Renaissance in Schaumburg. She was an avid animal lover, and had three horses as a child (Rocket, Patches, and Nosey). Her love for those horses never ended, even if Rocket wasn't the nicest. In her later years, she fostered a community of cats, giving them food and shelter. Her family was the light of her life.She loved being a mom, and was even more proud to be a grandma. She was proud of all of her grandchildren's accomplishments: David's upcoming college graduation, Zoie's wrestling, and Savanna's love for choir.She is survived by her son David (Sara) Peters; her grandchildren David Jr, Zoie, and Savanna Peters; her brothers Richard (Susan) Jr, Ronald (Susan), and Robert Bartsch; brother-in-law Jim (Marsha) Peters, brother-in-law Terry McEnany, sister-in-law Stacy Peters; nieces and nephews Amy Bartsch, Lauren (Vinny) Gallucci, Kelsey (Kevin) Laughfin, Megan Bartsch, Kathy Bartsch, Michael (Meredith) Daczewitz, Madison Bartsch, Mike (Patty) Peters, Lisa Ramberg, Brian (De) Peters, Todd (Andrea) Ramberg, Ruby (Dan) Frawley, Jennifer (Mike) Dray, Zach Peters; and many more great-nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her loving husband Daniel Peters; her beloved daughter Danielle Peters; her sister Sally; her brother-in-law Jeff Peters; sister-in-law Susan McEnaney; her parents Richard and Helen Bartsch; and nephews Alex and Chris Bartsch.A celebration of life will be held at the Woodstock Moose Lodge, 406 Clay St, on Mach 29, 2026 from 1pm to 5pm, with the service beginning at 4pm.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
