Waxahachie, TX

Debora Ann Goff, known lovingly as Deb or Debbie, passed away suddenly on March 5, 2026, in Waxahachie, Texas, at the age of 72 after a long courageous battle with cancer. She was Bom on April 27, 1953, in Jacksonville Florida to Andrew and Marls Headland. She grew up on the family farm near Jamestown ND. Debora lived a life defined by Kindness, Generosity of Spirit, Prayer and an unwavering Devotion to the people she loved.

Debora dedicated more than forty years to the field of education as a kindergarten teacher, a calling she embraced with profound pride and purpose. She believed deeply in the importance of nurturing young minds, and her impact on countless children and families was immeasurable. Her excellence in the classroom was recognized when she was named Teacher of the Year during both the 2012-2013 and 2017-2018 school years at the Life School campus in Texas, where she ultimately retired. Teaching was never simply a profession for Debora; it was a labor of love and a way of giving herself to the next generation.

Among her greatest joys was the day she married the love of her life Richard Goff, with whom she shared a Wonderful and Beautiful Life of Deep Love and Companionship. Her husband was not only her partner but her very best friend, and together they built a life rich in simple, meaningful pleasures. They enjoyed long walks together, movie dates with a shared fondness for westems, and quiet evenings side by side. Debora also treasured her daily FaceTime visits with her mother, sisters, and nieces, as well as cherished lunchtimes with special friends. She found peace in word puzzles and crosswords, and she delighted in reading Christian Historical novels that explored themes of faith and godly character.

Those who knew Debora understood that her warmth and compassion were extraordinary. She was patient, full of goodness and mercy, and always thoughtful about the feelings of others. As one close friend observed, "I never knew a person that was so pure in spirit." Her gentle nature touched everyone she encountered.

Debora was a devout Christian whose faith was the foundation of her life. She began each moming with quiet time in her Bible as an act of devotion to God, and she and her husband shared daily Prayer and Bible study together. Her life was a living testimony to the grace and love and faith she held so dear and was the foundation of everything she was and everything she gave to the world around her. She now Rests in the etemal peace of her Lord and Savior.

Debora is survived by her Mother Marlis Headland, her Husband Richard Goff, her brothers, Dayne Headland and Craig Headland, and her sisters, Cathy Frey, Joni Hanson, Melanie Headland, Laurie Rashedi, and Tammy Sand, Nong with many beloved nieces, nephews and cherished friends and relatives.
